Introduction:
The stoic thief that strikes from hiding only to vanish back into the shadows.

Name:
Sionn (shortened Sionnach, fox in old Irish), Cochall (hood in old Irish)

Age:
17

Color:
Forest Green

Race:
Faunus

Influence/reference:
Robin Hood (yes homage to the Disney version)

Occupation/Setting:
Former thief, current student at Beacon

Gender:
Male

Appearance:
Sionn has reddish brown hair, fairly short kept and uncombed. He has a light complexion, icy blue eyes with a faint scar running past his right eye, starting at his eyebrow and going down the right side of his face and ending just above his jawline. He is tall, standing at 6’4” with a lean frame. He is a fox faunus, having fox ears atop his head, the left fox ear also has a scar running along it visible as a white line in his usual red-brown.

Sionn is clad in a mottled green and gray cloak with a hood. This hood has two small, almost unnoticeable slits for his fox ears, although he typically pins them back underneath to conceal his faunus heritage. Unlike Ruby he commonly wears the hood up, and when he can’t he wears a gray fedora with green flecks. On the clasp of his cloak is engraved his personal emblem. A fox curled into a circle from nose to tail, with an arrow in its mouth (picture the mockingjay pin from The Hunger Games, but with a fox instead of the bird). Beneath his cloak Sionn wears an old gray scarf with tattered ends, in combat and on missions this scarf is pulled up over his mouth and nose to provide protection from the elements, conceal his face, and aid with concealment. He wears a mottled imperial green shirt. He also wears a pair of faded blue jeans, and black combat boots. Strapped to his back is the his weapon Frostbite. Built into a slit in the back of his cloak, near his waistline sits his quiver of trick arrows. On his hands to protect them from the elements, but sleeve the dexterity required for his weapon he wears fingerless black gloves.

Personality:
Sionn is what most would call distant. He's cold, calculating and slow to trust, but at the same time he is undyingly loyal to those who have earned that trust. He's a rebel and a highly sarcastic one at that. Sionn believes himself to be happy, but deep down he feels alone, and yet can never bring himself to trust others quickly. His life has been full of hardship and mistrust, and has created a hard shell around him in the form of his icy demeanor. He has always wanted to trust in others, and understand that may well be his fatal flaw. He trusts to completely and as such does so as little as possible. His icy facade functions as a test for those around him. Those that persist long enough to break through his shelling  he seems worthy of his trust.

As others look at this many of those who try to befriend Sionn are driven away by his short and often sarcastic replies. It takes one who truly cares to melt their way through the coat of ice he wraps himself in. And as such Sionn has never had many friends. It's not that he's unkind, if anything he cares deeply for people, he's just not good at being around them.

For those that gain Sionn’s trust and friendship, he is undyingly loyal. Sionn would gladly give his life to protect those he loves. He also possesses a mild hero complex, he understands that one day he will pass on, whether it be to a powerful foe or to age. All he wants is for his death to be heroic, to give his life to save others or to give his life for the greater good. He has a habit of getting into tight spots and frequently only escapes due to his quick mind.

Believe me when I say that this is, hands down, this is what makes or breaks your OC. Let me just say that you could have some great concepts in the rest of your bio, but if this section tanks, you're OC will NOT be appreciated. Let me first get something out there. DO NOT MAKE YOUR OC PERFECT. Like EVER! If you do, not only will they be bland, but if you plan on writing fanfiction of them, your character has no room to grow. At all. So, now that we've got that out of the way, I'd say it's best to start building off f one facet, say, your character is the loveable looser. Then, I'd add what they're good at, and then the most painful part to put in: FLAWS! Let's face it, everyone has them, and OC's are no exception. If you're having trouble coming up with any, I'd check this site out for flaws.

Skills and Abilities:
Sionn is a sly and brilliant tactician, capable of reading opponents quickly, and adapting to set them up into traps or lure them into teammates better suitd to fighting them. He is a master of stealth, and an expert thief. He is a natural born survivor in the wilderness, but struggles in social situations. His brilliant mind can get him in trouble when he tries to think too far ahead in battle and loses focus on the present.

Weapon(s) and fighting style:
Sion uses a Scottish claymore, a fairly large, double edged, two-handed sword names Frostbite. This weapon gives Sionn a massive reach, with powerful but slow strikes. His weapon can hinge at the base of the hilt to form a single edged sword staff, this provides him with far greater speed on his strikes, but can be cumbersome and difficult to wield when he is tired or injured. The staff can then bend along the rear edges of the blades to form a bladed longbow. This is Sionn’s primary ranged weapon and is the form he is most skilled with. In his quiver he carries a selection of trick arrows, ranging from armor piercing to zip lines, and from high explosives to gravity arrows. He compliments these trick arrows with those provided by his semblance.

Sionn is a mid to close range fighter, valuing hard hitting sneak attacks over prolonged open combat. He is highly agile and mobile relying on his ability to remain hidden while moving to the optimum vantage for some shots or a sudden strike with his blade. While he is skilled in the use of his weapons, if he can’t use his semblance, he stands little chance in open combat against more than one opponent.

Sionn excels greatly when he can use his semblance to supplement his normal weapons. He will form throwing knives, swords, and shields. He can use his semblance to freeze the ground, throwing enemies off balance, and giving himself an opening to strike. He even creates arrows out of ice to supplement his quiver and lengthen his ranged combat abilities.

Aura/Semblance:
His aura is a light green, almost an off-white. His semblance is manipulation of ice. He is capable of freezing anything to a specific temperature  of his choice and then returning it to its original temp. However, he can only use this on something that he is touching, making it ineffective as a ranged attack, in most cases. His control over his semblance is strong enough that he can form melee weapons like throwing knives or swords, but they can be quite fragile unless he is highly focused. He can also do the same for arrows providing himself with a much larger supply of ammunition than if he had to store all of them in quivers. Prolonged use of his semblance can severely drain him of energy, and deplete his aura reserves.
Backstory/History:
Sionn grew up in a small village in the far north of Atlas, the product of a rape, Sionn grew up with an overprotective mother who tried to shield him from the horrors of the world. Having few options and a child to take care of, his mother had no choice but to work in the nearby Dust mines, barely bringing home enough money to feed her child, let alone herself. Despite their struggles they persevered, until Sionn turned six, that is. Shortly after Sionn’s sixth birthday, there was a collapse in the mines. His mother was one the dozens of the mostly faunus workers to be killed in the accident. Having nowhere else to go Sionn roamed the streets for two years, learning the art of pickpocketing, and scams. Of course the thing he remembers most from these years, is the cold. A cold that seeps into your very bones and no amount of warmth can thaw it away. It was a combination of the very climate he lived in, as well as the bitter cold in one’s heart after the loss of a loved one. It was a cold that worse ed with every shot at his heritage, with every stone thrown by the other children, every shelter denied. This cold would remain with him for the rest of his life, but never extinguish the faint flame burning in his heart. When he was eight, Sionn was found by a team of huntsmen from Vale who had been in town for a mission. Though only two of them are important to this tale. Lok and Angria Radsla.

He was found when he attempted to pick the pocket of a local gang member. Noticing him, the gangster slashed him across the face and left ear with a switchblade before giving chase as Sionn fled down an alleyway. The chase went on for several minutes as they darted through side streets, jumping over obstacles, and dashing through crowds. Until Sionn ran into a team of huntsmen from Vale. They chose to protect the injured boy from his pursuers and gave him first aid for the wounds that would become faint scars over the years. Upon discovering his predicament, Lok and Angria chose to take Sionn in and adopt him.

Lok and Angria had a son of their own, a wolf Faunus the same age as Sionn named Fenris. Upon their arrival in Vale, Sionn and Fen quickly became inseparable. Though Sionn had great difficulty adjusting to regular life. He would pick fights, and pockets, often pulling Fen into the mix, much to the displeasure of his new guardians. However they soon discovered a pattern. Sionn would fight against those who picked on others, and thought every fight through. Sometimes they would win, most of the time they didn’t. As years went on though, that record began to shift in their favor. In doing so, he made himself into the target and drew bullies away from the other children. Upon learning this his adoptive parents, seeing the potential for a huntsman, chose to train both of them in combat. Even enrolling the duo in Signal Academy. It was there that he unlocked his aura, discovered his semblance, cryokinesis, and forged his weapon, Frostbite. During his studies he learned of the terrible distribution of wealth in Remnant, and chose to fight it.

He would disappear from home for days on end, travelling to Atlas, and Vale proper. Stowing away on airships, and boats. In the cities he would use his quick and adaptive mind, as well as his skills as a thief to stage robberies, and eventually elaborate heists against the wealthy elite. Over his four years at Signal, he managed to steal millions of lien from corrupt businessmen, and government officials. He never kept the money. He placed ever last lien in impoverished orphanages and relief programs. To those he stole from he became known as The Hood, for his trademark cloak that concealed both his face and Faunus features. Up until his acceptance at Beacon, the crooked businessmen of Remnant learned a valuable lesson. Fear The Hood.
